BBC Radio presenter Chris Arnold has apologized after making an awkward X-rated mistake live on air – which did not go unnoticed by fans and fellow DJ Greg James.
A BBC presenter has apologized after an unfortunate slip-up live on air has since gone viral.
Chris Arnold was replacing Mel Everett on BBC Radio Somerset when he made Mistake X early on in the show. It all started well when he said, “Hello, good evening. Chris Arnold here until 10 p.m. I hope you had a good day.
The DJ then accidentally turned the tune blue when he went on to say, “Lots of people coming…lots coming tonight.” After an awkward pause, Chris tried to recover and said “ok” as he continued to introduce the rest of the show.
But that mistake didn’t go unnoticed by fans – and Chris took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to later poke fun at himself by sharing the clip while apologizing. “I can only apologize to the listeners for this deeply regrettable slip on tonight’s show.”
And the clip gained even more popularity when BBC Radio 1 Breakfast DJ Greg James shared it and wrote: “Uh. It’s one of the greatest of all time. Chris responded by saying, “My consummate radio professionalism is recognized by one of the best in the business.”
Greg then played the clip to listeners on his breakfast show and said: “Now on to BBC Somerset and Chris Arnold who had a blast last night on the show. Calling the event “fantastic,” he added, “I hope you enjoyed this roundup as much as he did.”
Praising Greg for his support of local radio presenters, Chris then joked, “Well I passed it on to the folks at @BBCR1. It wasn’t quite how I had hoped to appear on Radio 1, but here we are.
Fans were quick to comment on the awkward mistake, with one saying she “sniffed my coffee” after hearing the clip. Another commented: “I would have loved to see your face during this awkward break. Thanks for that, it made me laugh.
A third joked: ‘I had no idea Radio Cummerset was so fun’, while a fourth wrote: ‘I suspect there are a few people a little salty about it. “And a fifth intervened:” I hope that the series will end well. »
A follower posted an excerpt from another radio error on BBC Radio Scotland a few years ago, in which a presenter is heard saying: ‘He and his wife are going on holiday next July to Northern Ireland and he is going to Bangor for a fortnight. ! »
Just days ago, BBC News presenter Rajini Vaidyanathan made an awkward blunder while reporting on Donald Trump’s trial – and accidentally called him Donald Tramp.
She carried on like a pro but, needless to say, the clip of her howler quickly made its way onto social media. And none other than Radio 1’s Greg James – who is becoming a bit of an error spotter – was quick to comment.
He said on his breakfast show, “Thank you to the person who just texted me and said ‘Greg, Greg, something happened on the news.’ On closer inspection, it’s actually the BBC News channel and it was Rajini Vaidyanathan who was here on Newsbeat. She is an extraordinary journalist, she is so gifted. I love Rajini. She’s in the news today and Donald Trump is in the news, but she decides to call him Donald Tramp.”
Rajini is in good company after fellow BBC News colleague Gareth Barlow also made a mistake last week. On the first line of his show, he said, “Hello! I’m watching…” before realizing his mistake and mockingly, “I’m watching BBC News? My name is Gareth Barlow.” Correcting himself, he then added: “You watch BBC News. »
Giving his verdict on recent ‘mistakes’, Greg added: ‘It has been a very good few weeks for BBC News. I really like it when you get to know the real BBC newsreader and learn that he’s not always skilled. , they are not always information robots but real fun people.
