777 Partners hints at Everton plan as US firm seeks funds for Genoa development
US investment firm 777 Partners has hinted at why it is interested in Everton amid reports of advanced talks over acquiring the club from Farhad Moshiri.
First reported by Bloomberg on Monday evening, the Miami-based company has been linked to the Blues since the start of the year, speaking with Moshiri and his representatives before the Everton owner eventually joined forces with MSP Sports Capital.
The deal with MSP was worth £150 million to the club, of which £100 million was for the construction of the stadium, while the remaining funds were for a 25% stake in the club. However, due to objections raised by an existing club lender to the proposed terms, the equity deal with the MSP fell through, although the financing loan remains intact.
This opened the door for negotiations to resume with 777, which manages a multi-club portfolio including Genoa, Vasco da Gama, Standard Liege, Hertha Berlin, Red Star FC and Melbourne Victory, with the group believed to be moving closer to a deal with Moshiri on a total buyout.

Mina suffers another setback
Hamstrung by injury problems for much of his time on Merseyside, it appears Yerry Mina’s luck has not improved since he signed for Fiorentina in the summer.
The centre-back, who is yet to play for his new club, was forced to withdraw in the 22nd minute of Colombia’s World Cup qualifier against Chile last night due to injury muscular.
A report from Tuttomercato said the ex-Everton star was ‘practically in tears’ after being unable to continue playing.
