Warrington help Plymouth progress
Everton loanee Lewis Warrington completed 90 minutes last night as Plymouth Argyle booked their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Hugo Ekitike “Offer”
“Everton” has made a bid for PSG striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 champions Reims, a club where he scored a club-best 10 goals in the 2021/22 campaign.
PSG turned the temporary move into a permanent transfer earlier this summer, paying €28.5m plus €6.5m in bonuses, although they could have already cashed in on the youngster.
Foot Zone claim the Blues have made an offer of €35m (£30m) plus €5m (£4m) in add-ons, adding that West Ham are also interested in the striker.

Lowe put on a tight lip in the Cannon Chase
Preston manager Ryan Lowe refused to give any details on Tom Cannon’s move.
The Everton striker is a target for the Championship club, among other second-tier clubs, although it remains to be seen who wins the race to sign the youngster.
The ECHO understands Preston are growing confident of agreeing a loan deal for Cannon, although Lowe chose to play down his club’s pursuit of the 20-year-old when asked by reporters.
“I have no comment on that until we know,” he said. “You probably know more than I do. I don’t listen to anything and I don’t listen to any social media stuff. I’m just waiting for the phone call and when it comes you’ll know about it.
“There’s a lot of progress, yes, but it’s the timing of everything, it’s not easy. I had a day today (Tuesday) where I haven’t turned off the phone since 10am this morning.
“I was actually having breakfast with my daughter, so she wasn’t happy. But listen, we have to do it and we will. I’ll check the phone when I get in and wait for some answers. and answers.”

Nathan Patterson is in a ‘good place’
Nathan Patterson believes he is in a “good place” to overcome his injuries and continue his Everton career.
After joining the “Blues” in January of last year, the Scottish footballer is facing serious problems. Those knocks held him back after some positive hits in the side when he was on form.
His latest setback saw him ruled out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ penultimate game of the last campaign with a hamstring problem.
Patterson then spent much of the offseason battling through the injury and building the foundation for a positive preseason. His hard work has paid off and he has established himself as the preferred right-back in recent weeks despite James Garner’s return to Finch Farm. Garner impressed on the right in Patterson’s absence on the final day of last season, then filled the position in England’s under-21 European Championship triumph.
Due to an injury to Seamus Coleman, Patterson began last season as first-choice at right-back, first on the wing and then at right-back before his first injury of the season halted his momentum. With Coleman injured again, the 21-year-old looks set to start against Fulham on Saturday.
Speaking about his work on getting back fit this summer, Patterson told Everton’s website: “I feel very good. I feel that I have put myself in a good place. I feel really fit and ready to go for the start of the season. It’s about being there physically and really getting started for me. I just can’t wait for next weekend now! The first game of the season here, we know it’s going to be sold out and we know it’s going to be loud from the fans for it.”

Everton transfer news as three strikers discussed in Youssef Chermiti deal
The expected arrival of Youssef Chermiti this week will not end Everton’s search for attacking options.
The 19-year-old is expected to become the club’s third summer signing ahead of the new season, joining from Portuguese side Sporting in an initial £12.5m deal. He will strengthen the team that struggled for goals last season. solving that problem quickly became a priority this summer.
Everton are hoping to strengthen their squad beyond the teenager, admitting that relying on Dominic Calvert-Lewin alone to lighten the load would not be ideal. At least two other signings are believed to be wanted, with Everton turning their attention to sides outside the Premier League as part of efforts to identify realistic targets.
