They fell in love in front of the world while performing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.
But Gemma Atkinson insists it was never planned, and neither was what followed.
The actress, 38, and Strictly star fiancé Gorka Márquez, 32, are now parents to daughter Mia, four, and son Thiago, who was born just five weeks ago.
But according to Gemma, she “wasn’t even motherly” until she met Gorka, and everything she had planned would “go out the window” after they met.
Opening up on their new reality show, Gemma And Gorka: Behind The Lens, the couple discussed their relationship and what they originally envisioned for themselves.
Gorka kicked off the conversation by asking Gemma, “We make a good team together. Do you think we are opposed?
“No, I don’t think so,” Gemma replied.
She continued, “Well, on our first date, we were discussing our favorite movies, right? And you said The Notebook and I said Rambo: First Blood Part II!’
Adding to what she expected to happen in her life, she said: “I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would end up with a dancer.
“And that’s not derogatory, because you’re a serious athlete. But I always thought I would be with someone like John Rambo or something.
“But when I met Gorka, I was like, ‘Oh my God!’, and everything I had planned for myself went out the window.
“I wasn’t even kindergarten until I met Gorka. And then I met him and I was like, ‘Oh, I could start a family with this one!’
Gemma found love with Gorka on the BBC Dance Show in 2017 and is now a mother to daughter Mia and newborn baby Thiago.
In the new three-part show, the couple take viewers to their doctor’s appointments and give insight into their third trimester.
Gemma says the series tackles the real side of pregnancy, including “pregnancy hemorrhoids” as well as “perineal massage and toilet habits”.
It comes after Gemma revealed she wished Gorka had ‘chemistry’ with her partner Strictly ahead of the new series – as the pair denied the show’s so-called curse.
The former soap opera star spoke about the importance of connection between dancers as a key to success in competition.
Gemma, who dueted with Aljaž Škorjanec on the show in 2017, told Hello! “Everybody said [during her time in the competition] “We have to examine [Aljaž’s] eyes and get closer” and I was like “Oh my God, this is horrible!” But the dance looked like crap because I didn’t do it”.
Adding, “I still wish they had chemistry! I think Gorka and I are very lucky in that we both understand each other’s jobs.
The pair then opened up about the infamous curse of the show which saw the stars’ relationships come to an end after they appeared on the show.
But Gorka called it a “myth” and said: “It can happen anywhere, in any job.”
Last week, Gemma revealed that people always ask her why she was with Gorka because they are convinced he is gay.
Gemma admitted she can’t wait for fans to watch the couple’s new reality show, Gemma And Gorka: Behind The Lens on W so they can see what Gorka really looks like.
She told Heat magazine: “I’m thrilled that people are discovering another side to Gorka. Obviously on Strictly when you do the VTs it’s just boobs and teeth but other than that I mean watch it.
“People still tell me, ‘What are you doing with a dancer?
“They see him in his sparkly pink shirt and say, ‘Are you sure your guy doesn’t like men?’ It will be good for them to see the other side.
