Liverpool are set to rekindle their interest in Ryan Gravenberch, however, the Reds will face stiff competition from Manchester United in the hunt for the Bayern Munich ace.
Ryan Gravenberch would favor a move to Manchester United over Liverpool should a move away from Bayern Munich materialize before next month’s deadline.
Gravenberch, 21, has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena and has even been tentatively linked with a move elsewhere before the summer transfer window opens. It is understood that the Dutch international has many admirers in the Premier League – including Liverpool, who are desperate to bring in midfield reinforcements.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign at least one new player in the role, with Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo now set to join the Reds. However, Liverpool could still reignite their interest in Gravenberch before September 1.
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are once again chasing the much-loved midfield maestro, but he faces stiff competition from Manchester United. Furthermore, the report claims that Gravenberch would favor a move to Old Trafford over Anfield which could force Liverpool to change their transfer plans again.
Gravenberch’s transfer preference is revealed just days after Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia snubbed the Reds’ interest in joining Chelsea.
And missing out on Gravenberch would be another blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are running out of time to strengthen their engine room after losing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to the Saudi Pro League.
